Our
MCube Projects

The MCube cluster strategy is implemented in the form of specific projects on two levels:
At the level of technological and social innovations, MCube comprises a total of eleven innovation projects in three fields of innovation that are aligned with the current trending topics in the mobility sector and worked on in transdisciplinary consortia. On another level, three integration projects in three strategic fields of integration are horizontally linked to this.

Here you will find an overview of the innovation and integration fields and the projects defined within them.

INTEGRATION PROJECTS

Three strategic fields of integration connect all activities and topics at MCube. Overarching questions create room for an integrative framework of all mobility innovations.

Three fields of innovation

Three strategic fields of integration connect all activities and topics at MCube. Overarching questions create room for an integrative framework of all mobility innovations. The three missions of the MCube cluster are taken up and developed by concrete projects. Within these projects, the following three fields of innovation play a role:

MOBILITY NEEDS everyone:

Mobility innovation requires a holistic innovation process that brings together the results of science and the participation of local stakeholders from business, society and local authorities. MCube links nationally and internationally leading research institutions and small to medium-sized corporations, start-ups, administrations and NGOs.

MCube brings together scientific research from a wide range of disciplines. In the interdisciplinary cluster, representatives of engineering, urban and regional planning, computer science, energy research, economics, and political and social sciences work together on innovations for the mobility transition.

The cluster's industrial partners are an essential component for the development of sustainable and self-supporting structures. As an "entrepreneurial university," the Technical University of Munich provides the ideal basis for an open culture of innovation. The constellation enables the promotion of technology transfer and the establishment of new companies.

Mobility is a central factor in the lives of people and societies. It determines, for example, where we live and work, who can participate in society and how ecological transformation is shaped. In the spirit of an open innovation culture, citizens are actively involved in the innovation process in MCube. Testing new ideas in living labs also plays a central role.
